Exploring biodiversity from the microscopic world of tardigrades to the mountain meadows of the Tatras — with integrative taxonomy, field ecology, and a commitment to bringing science beyond the laboratory.
I am a passionate naturalist and researcher with broad interests spanning Tardigrada, Orthoptera, and European herpetofauna — three groups that, despite their diversity, share one trait: they are too easily overlooked.
My work is rooted in integrative approaches, combining taxonomy, ecology, and natural history to understand the full complexity of the organisms I study. I care deeply about outreach — translating research findings into accessible knowledge and bringing conservation values to wider audiences.
In 2023, I graduated from the Biology programme (BSc) at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Two years later, in 2025, I completed my MSc in Environmental Protection and Management at the same institution.
My research crosses taxonomic and disciplinary boundaries. Each group I work on reveals a different facet of biodiversity — its hidden structure, evolutionary history, and ecological significance.
Water bears are among the most extraordinary animals on Earth: near-indestructible, microscopic, and found on every continent. My work focuses on the phylogenetics and taxonomy of the order Apochela, with a particular interest in the enigmatic epibiotic ciliate Propyxidium tardigradum and its interactions with tardigrade hosts.
Grasshoppers, crickets, and katydids are vital yet declining components of European ecosystems. My research spans faunistics, ecology, and community dynamics — including a long-term monitoring study of Orthoptera communities in the Tatra National Park, tracking changes since the 1950s.
My involvement in herpetological research spans amphibian breeding ecology, lizard predation behaviour, and conservation monitoring of key species in Poland and across Europe. I am also a contributing editor to an upcoming guidebook on Polish herpetofauna.
